For too long we’ve observed and experienced inequality of American healthcare workers within our healthcare system. Currently, African American professionals are being squeezed out of their jobs unfairly making it difficult to attain the “American Dream.” We were reminded on Doctor King’s birthday, of this dream, And it is in this spirit we want to celebrate. Enough is enough!
Many indigent patients are given low and poor quality care, because they are often treated by the inexperienced and poorly trained healthcare workers hired to replaced the competent just, because of the color of their skin. Great care is to be preserved. That is the Oath we take, when we were given the charge to practice, isn’t it?
More hospitals are needed to accommodate the vast numbers of those who are being left out in the cold. Our funding will fill numerous needs.
Many are subjected to put up a fight to restore lost jobs recover lost dreams, and needing legal assistance. While there are so much struggles stemming from this inequality, we want to show our love to those affected, near and far, and send a message to the system that we will stand our ground. We must maintain our stance in one of the largest professions by encouraging our young people to covet what we do, to ensure that our people will continue to contribute to the care of the community at home and abroad.
We have some of the best doctors and nurses amongst us. And we must never fail to hold them up and recognize them for their diligence and hardwork. They are ours. Like precious gems, let us keep them.
